Use your gift to support the Kenan Center.
November 2022
Dear Friend of the Kenan Center,
We are honored to serve as co-chairs of this year’s Kenan Annual Appeal.
You are receiving this note based on our personal relationship and/or your historic Kenan relationship. We want to be blisteringly transparent with you - this is a request seeking your financial support of a not-for-profit organization that has been very close to our family for 50+ years. Please don’t stop reading…but if you must, please be responsible by recycling.
My father passed away in May 2022 at the age of 71 after a fatal heart attack. As our family goes through “the year of firsts”, I find myself becoming more sentimental about specific traditions and memorable events - several of them centering around the Kenan campus. I miss my dad tremendously - he was my mentor and my hero. In his honor, we are seeking to raise $71,000 to benefit the Kenan Center.
Five generations of our family have been impacted by the Kenan. My grandfather used to drive my uncle to hockey practice every weekend from North Tonawanda. My dad and I regularly attended the boxing, wrestling, and American Craftsmen events. Tracy is an instructor at Gina’s Revolution Fitness, which is based on the campus. Our three girls have all attended soccer programs, and one of them has been active in various performance programs at the Taylor Theater. Our niece's son is currently an enrolled student within the recently-expanded Montessori Preschool.
With several of our family’s Kenan touch points being outlined, my strongest Kenan memories are of our family attending the annual circus - a tradition that my parents started, and we have carried down to our children - hoping that they will continue into the next generation.
These examples reinforce the organization’s mission, which reads “The Kenan Center enriches lives by providing the community with cultural, educational, and recreational opportunities.” These diverse programs are enjoyed by community members of all ages…and the availability of these events/programs relies on various funding sources including the Annual Appeal.
We are blessed to be surrounded by such a caring network of friends. We truly appreciate your consideration to be a part of this year’s campaign.
1 Peter 4:10 - Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
Faithfully serving our community,
Tom and Tracy Grzebinski
